Boo-Boo, BOO-BOO!
Grant came running, alarmed the other day screaming "boo-boo, BOO-BOO". I heard no sounds that would indicate he had been hurt, nor did I see tears streamed down his face. I asked him where he had a boo-boo and he pointed to a birthmark on his thigh. :-)
Conversations with an "Almost" 2 Year Old
Me: Grant, how old is Mommy?
Grant: TWO!
Me: Grant, are you going to have a brother or sister?
Grant: SISTER!

An Angel Disguised as Santa
When we arrived in California this past December for a work trip for Jake, we got a rental car. The line inside the the building (which was off site from LAX) was quite long and since Grant had been confined to a plane for half the day I decided to wait outside with him and our luggage. While we were waiting a couple in their 80's came over to us. The man literally looked like Santa, he was even wearing a Santa hat. He said "ho, ho, ho" to Grant. Grant smiled and said "ho, ho" back. He asked Grant a couple of questions, "Have you been good? Do you brush your teeth? Do you love your mommy?". After each question Grant nodded his head "yes". Then he said to Grant, "Santa is going to bring you a sister for Christmas". Then looked at me and with a twinkle in his eye he said "Merry Christmas- God bless you and your family". I had this warm feeling wash over my body- peace. 8 days later I had a positive pregnancy test and tomorrow I will be 17 weeks pregnant. We couldn't be more thrilled or blessed at this amazing gift we have been given.
